PromoSuite and WideOrbit Announce Radio Automation Integration
Posted by PromoSuite News on 4/3/2019 12:00:00 PM.
NEW YORK, NY / SAN FRANCISCO, CA—PromoSuite and WideOrbit are excited to announce a new integration that promises to improve the speed of on-air contesting and liners in the studio. The new PromoSuite Next widget for WO Automation for Radio enables on-air talent to submit PromoSuite Next winner sheets, check winner eligibility, and log live liner and contest reads directly from the WideOrbit Automation for Radio interface, rather than toggling between the two systems.

"Efficiency in the studio is all about clicks," said William 'Dub' Irvin, VP of WO Automation for Radio. "By allowing on-air talent to execute their PromoSuite Next content from our interface, we are saving time and complexity, and it will surely contribute to a better on-air product."

"When I was on the air, the most challenging thing for me was trying to keep up with all of the tasks I was expected to do simultaneously," said PromoSuite CTO Chris Bungo. "This integration with WideOrbit will significantly streamline daily life for on-air talent. We've had countless clients asking us to work with WideOrbit on this integration, so we're very excited to roll it out!"

Representatives from both companies will be attending the NAB Show in Las Vegas. If you are interested in learning more about how this integration can benefit your Programming and On-Air teams, please contact Rachel Field of PromoSuite at rachel@promosuite.com, or Michelle King of WideOrbit at mking@wideorbit.com for stations in the western US and Brad Young of WideOrbit at byoung@wideorbit.com for stations in the eastern US.

Unlocking the Secrets of the Toolbar
Posted by Ben Singer on 11/12/2018 10:00:00 AM.

As a PromoSuite Client Support contact, one of the more interesting parts of my job happens when someone shares their screen with me so I can walk them through a question or problem they’re having. It really gives me a look into how they navigate the program, what buttons they use the most, and what buttons they may not even know are there.

In this article, I want to highlight a few features from the PromoSuite Next toolbar that can save you a ton of time. Give them a try and see what I mean!More

The Importance of Logging Out
Posted by CJ Knowles, Business Development Manager, on 8/13/2018 11:30:00 AM.

On the topic of security, users sometimes ask us why PromoSuite Next logs them out. While we know it can sometimes catch you off guard, it’s very important. It’s about more than just protecting your stations’ listener data—it’s about protecting you specifically!

We always encourage users to log out of PromoSuite Next using the Logout button under their name. We know though that people sometimes forget, or they just close the browser tab with the X in the corner, or they just leave their browser open and go home for the day (looking at you, On-Air folks…). So, it’s with your security in mind that PromoSuite Next logs you out after periods of inactivity. Our automatic logout helps to make sure no nefarious ne’er-do-wells hijack the PromoSuite session that you left open and do something shady, then have you take the fall for it.

Passwords: Like Locking Your Front Door at Night
Posted by Nia Levy on 8/10/2018 11:00:00 AM.

We get a lot of questions from users about passwords, particularly why PromoSuite requires a password change every 90 days and doesn’t allow you to recycle the same password for a 180-day period. If your music scheduling and automation software don’t require this, why do we?

The answer is simple: listener data. PromoSuite Next houses addresses, contact information, and even social security numbers. Your company is responsible for housing this sensitive data, and passwords are the first of our many lines of industry standard defenses. After all, you can have 4-foot concrete walls with bars on the windows, but they aren’t going to do much if you leave the front door wide open!

Local Administrators: Your Eyes, Ears and (Often) Engineers
Posted by David Cid on 8/9/2018 10:00:00 AM.

In thinking about security, it’s never a bad idea to have a security guard. That’s why we always recommend appointing a Local Administrator who is responsible for all things PromoSuite. We particularly see this useful for user access and security rights.

We can’t go a year without hearing a news story about a former employee finding creative ways to get back at the company they just left–data theft, hijacking the company’s websites, leaking sensitive company information, you name it. These situations can all be prevented by simply having a dedicated local admin.

Managing your listeners eligibility can be a tedious task, but with the tools available in PromoSuite Next we can help ensure that all of your listeners get a fair shake at racking up some contest wins! In the setup and utilities menu (the gear icon on the top right of the page) you can access the eligibility rules by clicking into Database > Listener Eligibility.
