The Tabbed Gmail Inbox

Earlier this year, Gmail introduced their new tabbed inbox.  If you are not familiar, you can see the introduction on the Official Gmail Blog.
 
This update is Gmailís way of helping their users sift through the flood of email they receive every day.  They outline the types of messages by four overarching tabs Ė Primary, Social, Promotions and Updates.  As new email comes in, Gmail attempts to look at the content and categorize the emails, helping their users see the important emails first.

Too much testing is never enough

Why should I send a test if I can see what my email looks like when I build it?

A lot of people have experience building websites, or at least viewing websites on different platforms and different browsers.  Not everyone has experience building emails, despite the volume we all receive.

Email Subjects Are Important!

We all know itís important to make sure that your recipients are interested in your content so they donít just delete it and move on to the next one.  But when you create an email full of great content, make sure everyone gets to see it!  Donít stack your subject line with boring text, or worse, a line full of triggers getting your message sent to spam.  If your email isnít delivered, no one will get to see it.
